Okay so having been told things like super stardust aga and other aga games run pretty well on morphos at 1.25ghz, I would like to get a mac for morphOS.
I would prefer an emac because its all in one and I kinda like that form factor. I know the emac 1.25ghz is supported, but is the 1.42ghz version working with morphOS. I understand its not that big a diference in speed but every little bit helps I think...
Otherwise, can someone reccomend a power mac model for MorphOS?
Steven
There was some question about the 1.42GHz model of the eMac working with MorphOS, only because it had not been tested by the MorphOS Dev. Team. But some time later, someone did confirm that both the 1.25GHz and 1.42GHz G4 eMac models work with MorphOS2.7 (IIRC).
So I would say go for it if you can find one locally. If you have to have it shipped, it will cost as much or more to ship a G4 eMac as it would to ship a G4 PowerMac. Any of the G4 PowerMac's will be supported from 500MHz up to the last ones released that were 1.42GHz, but you might need to replace the video card on some models that originally came with NVidia video cards instead of Radeon cards. The 400MHz and 450MHz G4 PowerMacs may also work. I think the official announcement mentions that all "New World" G4 PowerMacs are supported, but I don't know what the definition of what a "New World" PowerMac is.
Good luck with your search and enjoy your MorphOS experience. If you have any problems setting it up or installing MorphOS on it when you find one, don't hesitate to ask questions.
