Hey all. I was hoping to do some shooting out there and have been trying to contact these guys for weeks, to no avail. Really weird. Does anyone here know the guys at AmiWest and could pass a message along for me?

Surely they gotta be interested in being a part of Amiga history...

Contact the President, Brian Deneen via contact email address given at the AmiWest blog or on the official AmiWest website.  (you do know how to use google, I assume)

@Firedawg,

If you need a ride from the airport to the hotel, let me or one of the other SACC members know and I am sure we can pick you up  (not sure if the hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport in Sacramento).

I wish some one would host an Amiga show in Philly or Valley Forge (King of Prussia) PA to commemorate the old Amiga World shows.
Besides, that would be a central east coast location.

Get together with ciento and others that want a show in the middle, or Eastern part of the country and make it happen.  Choose Spring Break for the time and we will have two USA Amiga shows to attend each year, AmiWest in Oct. and your show in the Spring.

It just takes some hard work and organization by a few dedicated individuals to make it happen.  You might find many Amiga users that feel the same way as you that would be willing to help.  I would try to attend if there were a second Amiga show each year, even though it would be a long trip to get there.

Until you have it set up, you should attend AmiWest and gather support and ideas from other Amiga users that are attending.

I just wanted to post a quick update to what I will be showing this year at Amiwest. I've received the latest build of the IOS Amiga emulator engine from Manomia that is working very well. Its being used to develop games wrapped in a stand alone package. The first major one now on the App Store is Defender of the Crown.

Currently I have several scene demos, games, WB 1.3 and a few other goodies working very stable and set to show off. Here is a teaser of what to expect. This does not require your phone or iPad to be jail broken as well.

That looks great Acill, do you mean that they are selling each game, or Amiga app separately in the Apple App Store?  I was hoping it was something I could buy once and load my own Amiga content.

In regard to preparing for the AmiWest 2011 Show, I am in need of assistance from all of the artists that visit this site.  I need a new MorphOS poster to print out on my large format inkjet printer for display at our MorphOS display table at the show.  If any of you wish to whip something together and send me a pdf, or jpeg, I would really appreciate it.

I already have more than enough other things to do in preparation for the show and besides, I am no artist.

AROS m68k-amiga media kits have been shipped to AmigaDave this morning, and should arrive in plenty of time for the show.

They include a soft-kicking AROS boot floppy, and an AROS Live CD, which includes AROS, Emergency Disk ADF and files, AROS ROM images (for those with MAPROM hardware), and complete source code for everything on the CD.

Price? Free!

Look for them at AmigaDave's table - I've only shipped 30 units, so get there early!

URLs for the ISO and ADF images I used will be available after the show, or if AmigaDave runs out, whichever is sooner.

To make sure that people attending only one of the two days of the show have an equal chance to get one of these AROS packages, I will divide them up for each day and give them out half the first day and half the second day.

I am still in need of ideas for MorphOS posters if anyone is talented artist and would like to design something to be displayed at the show.

There will be a need for  more then 30.
Just the helpers will deplete the supply.

Do we have permission to make copies?

Good question.  I don't see why not, but will let Jason answer, as it is his work (and that of others) that you will be copying.  I am sure that the 30 copies he has sent will go very quickly.

I wonder how many people are going to show up this year?  Those that don't are missing out on a great opportunity to see all sides of our tiny Amiga community at work and see demonstrations first hand.

It is going to be a great show, so I hope those of you that can make the trip to Sacramento, will put forth the effort to show up.  You won't regret it.

Almost finished packing up to head out the door for the drive to AmiWest 2011 Show!

I've been up since 3am working on last minute details and configurations (which will continue after I arrive in Sacramento, right up to the time the show starts, if not after it starts as well).

See some of you there and for the rest of you, maybe you will make it a priority to attend next year, or organize a show in your area.  I am not opposed to traveling to get to more than one Amiga show each year.

Even if you can't come. Be sure to watch as Bill Bosari works really hard to web cast.

Totally agree!  Bill deserves a trophy for all the hard work he does (in fact, I think he got an award during last year's show).  All the SACC guys put in a ton of work to make this show happen every year.  It is too bad that more Amiga users don't try, or can't manage to attend the show.

Heh, we're still waiting for you to make it to the Commodore Vegas Expo (CommVEx).  Next year will be our eighth year.

And Las Vegas is nearer to you than Sacramento,

Commodore Vegas Expo v8 2012 - http://www.portcommodore.com/commvex

But I am not a Commodore 64 user.  If the show were more about Amigas, I would make more effort to go.  I did try to get there a couple of years, but it did not work out.  Maybe next year.
