AmigaOS 4.0 for Classic Amiga available now!!!!!!!!

I know I am going to get flamed for this, but for other than those that have friends who suffered long and hard to create OS4, or those that are lovers of Hyperion (no matter what information has come out in the litigation), why would anyone want to buy OS4 when a very similar product has been available for many months for free?

Does Hyperion deserve my support after all this time and after all the lies (my perception) on both sides of the Amiga Inc. fight?

I just don't understand the fanatic purchases by some that can't even run OS4? :-?

i cant use it right now but if i get my hands on a bppc card or newer ppc cards, that will be made later on. it will be usefull...

thank you, that is more of an answer I was looking for.  I have no desire to start a "RED" vs "BLUE" fight here.  It is just that you must admit that OS4 and MorphOS are VERY similar and one is free, the other is going to cost you.

I have downloaded MorphOS, but have not installed or used it yet, so don't accuse me of being a MorphOS fanboy, I am not.  I have seen it demonstrated and it looked nice and fast, so I will probably try it out some time in the next few months, but it is not high on my agenda.

My statement was that I just don't understand the people that are so ........... excited, or dedicated to OS4 even if they don't have the hardware to run it.

You are free to have your opinion and your reasons for wanting OS4, I was just curious as to what some of those reasons might be.

Very nice packaging, my hats off to them for that.  I might even buy it......someday, but not after seeing it work on a system similar to mine.  I hope I can see it on a Classic PPC Amiga close to me soon.

Congrats to all of you that have waited sooooooo long.  I am happy for all of you and hope it is all you dreamed of.  I also hope that it will continue to be developed for years to come.

Please post your reviews of OS4.0 on CSPPC and BPPC here for all of us to read.

If it ran on my G4 PowerBook, I would be fighting to be first to buy it.  Yes, please somebody release a hack to get it installed and running on PPC Macs.  (That would be one way for Hyperion to pay their lawyers, think of how much money Hyperion would get then from selling copies of AOS4.0 and they don't even have to be the ones to release the hack so they are not in even more litigation with AInc.)
