I know that there was a dispute between the developers that worked on Amithlon, but it was released commercially and is even still available from some dealers. Why would you say that someone that runs a software program that they legally purchased from a dealer, is doing something illegal? If the developers have a case, let them fight it out in court, but don't blame the purchasers that had no part in creating the problem.
