Thanks to Danamania and the rest of you! Powerbook fixed
« on: October 18, 2005, 11:34:58 PM »
Danamania was correct, my inverter board is now replaced and I am back to using my Powerbook for checking email and browsing Amiga.org.  I can't thank all of you enough for your advice.  The advice here was faster and better than two other Mac websites.

Thanks again, and for any of you that have similar problems, don't waste the money to send your powerbooks to a service shop unless you are completely unable to handle small tools.  The replacement was a breeze and took only about 5 minutes from start to finish.    :-D

Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh!!!!!

My fixed Powerbook only worked for one week and has the same symptoms again!  What could be killing my inverter board?  I hate to have to send my powerbook out to a shop to be fixed when I am capable of replacing parts myself.

Acill, Danamania, anyone have any other ideas for which part to replace next? (along with another $80 inverter board that must be ruined again)

That Powerbook is my main machine and I hate being without it.
