After all these years
« on: August 30, 2004, 05:35:41 AM »
Well, it has been years since I first visited this site, so I think this introduction is a bit over due.  Amiga.org is my primary link to Amigadom.  I have been collecting Amigas since 1987 and since I have never sold any of them, I have quite a collection (12 I think, I may have missed one).  I don't have any set up at this time, but I am in the process of adding on to my home to create a room to set up a video studio for my 2 toaster/flyer systems, 2 VLAB-Motion systems, 2 GVP IV-24 systems, 2 DCTV systems.  Actually, the room won't be big enough for all my systems, but at least I'll be able to get a few set back up to satisfy my withdrawal symptoms.  I must say that cruising the Internet from the couch on my Powerbook is great, so my online connection will likely continue to be non-Amiga.  Any Amiga users in Southern Calif. that wish to talk Amiga or assist in setting up my video studio, please let me know.

David or Amigadave, which ever the case may be.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Thank you all for the great welcome, I wish I had done this years ago.

Yes, I qualify as an Amiga freak, that is for sure.  The number 12 just didn't sound right to me so I had to do a count of my Amiga computers to find out what the real total is.

2 - A4000D's in towers w/Video Toaster/Flyer setups & 060/PPC's
1 - A1200 New in the box, only turned on once to test
2 - A3000D's warp engine 040's w/VLAB-Motion cards
1 - A2000 GVP IV24 030 derringer
2 - A500's both with HDD (Supra and GVP 530) & DCTV's
2 - A1000's (one is slated to get gutted and turned into ahigh end P4 emulated Amiga with Kermit Woodal's conversion kit and Amiga Forever)
2 - CD32's (one new in the box and one w/SX-1 that was once owned by the Amiga/Mac emulator Guru of Arizona, creator of the Emplant card and software)
1 - CDTV w/wireless remote

That makes 13, I think that is all, except for the tons of other magazines, books, hardware and software that has come and never left.

When I retire, I plan to teach 3D rendering and video production to kids ages 10 to18 and use these antiques to show them how much can be done with so little effort and resources.

And yes, wireless with highspeed cable modem attached is great.
