Your USB CDRom is nothing but a mass storage, you cannot add it as physical device ! If you check the option for CDRom, you are able to go to the menu (F12), go to "Insert New Disk" and choose ISO IMAGE from the right menu instead of ADF ! Then you can mount an ISO file which is available on your Workbench without using any CDFileSystem on Amiga side ...

That brings up a question, though... There is a 4-pin RGGL audio connector on the motherboard. There's a matching audio out connector in the back of my DVD/CD-ROM drive. If the connector on the motherboard is not intended to be used with a CD-ROM drive, what is that connector for? How would one use it?

To passthrough CDDA from Audio CD to the Amiga Sound Output ?

You will need a CD/DVD Drive with a play button next to the eject button

You can use real cdroms with it now. However you have to insert disc and then make sure its added to the HDD mount list in config.
Not ideal, but it works (with no CDDA). Just set device name to CD0.

But thats exactly as I stated above, only usable as MassStorage ... that hast nothing to do with using a CDRom with a real CDFileSystem on Amiga side  ::)
