Got the same problem here, try this :

- turn auto login OFF
- go to the advanced update menu
- update every package except the avcodec
- reboot
- update the avcodec
- reboot
- turn auto login ON
- reboot

Don´t know if ALL the steps are necessary but it worked for me ;)
