But : are there ANY USB PADs that are actually working besides the one that comes with the Unit 
I have found one! The
Logitech Gamepad F310. It needs to be in "DirectInput" mode, by having the switch underneath on D, not X (XInput). The "Mode" button also needs to be on (
lit up), as it will then use the D-pad rather than the analogue stick (
the analogue stick works but - as you would expect for something expecting digital input - is erratic).
It works perfectly on both the A600GS interface and in-game. The Start button brings up the A600GS menu (like pressing F12) and the A button is the standard Amiga fire button. None of the other buttons do anything, although I've not tested CD32 games.
