Not exactly Amiga related, but it is at least Jay Miner related. I hope you all don't mind...

What this does is connect your SIO port to a virtual floppy device that allows you to load up 4 floppy images at one time, or to boot off a giant image to use as a hard drive.
On top of that, this particular unit also features a USB port so that you can interface with your DOS or Windows based PC using APE, thus giving you acess to your PC's Modem, Drives, and so on.

I have one of these on my modified 130XE (with a 6309 processor), it works great for booting the OS I am using.

OH ya, I think I recall you saying something about updating your CPU.
What OS are you running on it again? And aren't these devices great? They save so much on load times!!!

I'd love to see a video of your modified Atari running if you ever get around to it. The world must know!!! :)

What, that I've forgone all that great graphic and sound functionality for an OS that I have to use Peeks and Pokes to gain access to said hardware?
People would think that's nuts.
Then again I can multi-task with it, and that was what I set it up for.
Now I need an 80 column display.

It's all in the right keyboard with those Atari's. With 80 Columns, the Atari makes for a great work processor and an excellent means to run Lotus software amongst other things.

I only wish it had an audio program that supported MIDI and allowed for acess to at least 8 channels. Duel Pokey of course. :)
