I know a few of you own these as they are really not that expensive. I bought mine used for only $200 if that says anything.
For anyone who ever wanted to own an old analog synthesizer but don't have a $1000 or two sitting around waiting to be blown, then this is the instrument to buy!
It is digital, but works and sounds much the same as any old school Synthesizer, though with a few added bells an whistles. One of these features would be the ability to connect and communicate with the MicroKorg on your PC or Mac via the MIDI ports.
Ironically, Korg's very own software for Windows blows much ass, but what it does (once you figure a way to work around it's quirks) is allow you to back up the sounds that you have created on your MicroKorg so that you never loose them!
Secondly, it allows you to install user made Patches into your Korg. This way you and your friends can share your newly created sounds.

http://com64.co.uk/patches-for-the-microkorg/ As I said though, Korg's own software is not worth using as their is an alternative for Windows (MS2k Sysxplorer) and OS X (MS2000 Librarian).
I do not run OS X, so I tried out Sysxplorer and I had it up and going in no time! I was able to back up individual sounds that I had created on my MicroKorg as well as create packs containing all my sounds!
On top of this they now have a randomizer features which allows you to randomly generate a sound on which ever sound back you select. It is VERY easy to use, and save one so much time trying to create a new sound from scratch. In this way you can find something that fits closely to what you have in mind, then edit it on the MicroKorg till it sounds right.
Now what I think would be awesome to do when I'm back working again is to start a bounty to have such a program written for Amiga OS 3.x. I would not think that such a program would really require too many resources would it?
