Well there is good news.

You will find these on Ebay all the time and you should never have to spend more than $5 for a basic one that will do exactly what you want it to do.

Sadly, I see none posted at the moment, at least no externals, but keep your eyes out.

Now mind you, for the heavy duty external midi adapters with all the extra features, you are going to pay more, but all in all you can get the basic ones with In/Out/Pass  Trough for dirt cheap! You can even build your own if from plans on Aminet.
