Amiga: A Religious Community
« on: November 12, 2010, 08:50:29 PM »
I just wanted to write and thank all of you in the Amiga (and Atari {Atariage.com}) Community that I have ever dealt with. I can not say that I have ever experienced such warmth, helpfulness, and friendliness in any other community, be it religious or otherwise!

Everyone has been very helpful when ever I have had an issue with software or hardware, and I can not say that I have ever been ripped off by anyone in the community when dealing with hardware sales and or repair. In fact I've transfered money from my bank account all the way to Poland on good faith, and I'm talking about $500 here, and I still did not get ripped off!
Sadly I haven't made it to many Amiga or Atari shows, and those I've been to were years ago, but even when I attended them it was always warm and the company was always VERY diverse (there are some creepy lookin' mofo's out there I'm tellin' ya), which just proves that those faces behind the screens of virtual reality, are in fact for real at least in the case of these two communities.

So anyhow, there is my little rant, thank you all again for being there and keeping the spirit alive!

Well he was right about one thing, or close to right...

DOOM does indeed rock! I've been playing it since 93 or 94 and still find my self coming back to it and writing levels and mods for it's various expanded ports. Might I also add that I salivate every time I see DOOM that has been ported to one of my favorite OS's and or Consoles. :)

So yes, even though I have been gaming since 1979, I still must hold that DOOM was one of the most important games to have ever been written, at least according to my gospel.
