Laptop LCD for monitor?
« on: June 24, 2005, 08:32:13 AM »
Ok, here's another interesting question. Let's assume I wanted to make my 1200 or 600 into a laptop of sorts.
I've got a 12" Compaq LTW 5280 laptop screen which I've detached from the piece of crap it came on (did Compaq ever make anything that was not crap?), and I've got all cables attatched, uncut, etc.
Now I need to know how one goes about figuring out what cables goto what? I need to run them into a VGA IN port somehow.

Anyone have experience with this? Of course compaq seems to be of NO help what so ever.

Yep, just spent a while googling, and came up with a TON of negative feedback on this conecept. I'm going to give up before I begin cause I know I don't have what it takes to pull this off, which is a LOT of patience and a LOT of time...

...and in the end it still may not work.

Maybe something like this would be a possible (crappy) solution:
