England threatened to be kicked out of Euro 2004
« on: June 09, 2004, 12:20:17 AM »
UEFA has warned that the England football team will have action taken against them if the hooligan violence is repeated this tournament - including maybe even getting kicked out of Euro 2004. English hooligans have again and again damaged every major tournament with riots and violence. They're not the only ones to do this, and they represent only a minority of the fans, but they are still the worst, it's getting worse every year, and UEFA seem to be sick of it.

Should this really happen? We know hooligans are mindless and only there for the fight, but they're nationalist too. If England was kicked out, would it shock or shame them into reigning back their behaviour? If not, what other approaches could be used?

What about Turkey and their fans? Nobody says Sh*t about them and how awfully they behave, why do people always pick on us brits?!

Well, not Brits, since Scotland have the best fan record of any team, and Wales and Northern Ireland aren't known for fan riots either. England has the worst record. Turks are bad too, but the English are worse.

When was the last time you heard of an English hooligan stabbing an innocent opposition supporter to death for no reason whatsover?

Quite a lot actually, but in domestic games.

England are the rowdiest of all the fans and cause the most damage to property. I fully expect they'll be doing it as I write this.

A few Turks can be murderous on occassion, but England fans are rowdy, always.

As for scotch fans being whiter than white. Ever been to an old firm match? Celtic and Rangers hooligans are fcuking mental! You know all about "ned's" kenny, and the majorty of their fans are neds. Need I say any more?

Rangers fans all support England, Celtic fans support Ireland. There isn't a Scotland supporter among them. Try again.

I'm still waiting for proof of a murder at an english domestic footbal game. Ever.

At the game? Never then of course, just during the drinking and fighting before and especially after the match. There haven't been so many murders, (one exception here, but I'd like to know how much the NHS spends patching up drunken tossers who just take things too far every week.

As for the all rangers fans supporting England, thats bollox, and you know it.

Nope, Scotland's Celtic players mean that Scotland isn't a team that serious Rangers supporters will ever cheer for. I saw a good few England strips on today. And a many England flags, complete with red hand of ulster, can be seen at every Rangers match.

Don't want to appear racist, but the stereotype of Glaswegians is of and alocholic violent nationalist. No smoke without fire eh?

Well, all Brits are alcoholics, so no surprise there. And all football crowds are violent, ditto. As for nationalist, yes, but rarely nationalist for Scotland itself...
