Amikit (and other Workbench replacement programs) would not exist without the *HARD WORK* that Toni Wilen puts into WinUae.

It would exist. The linux port of AmiKit doesn't use WinUAE at all. :-)
Btw. Toni actively cooperates with us as well as Richard Drummond. Big thanks to them too, of course.

Glad to see you have adopted the new themes format offered by AfA_OS. Am I correct in thinking VisualPrefs is no longer used at all?

Both types of themes are used. MorpheuZ can switch among VisualPrefs and AfA_OS themes easily. Altogether there are 22 themes (11 classic VisualPref's ones and 11 new 24bit ones).

Linux doesn't install, saying it is missing {$LOSTFILE}

You must be missing either pkg-config or/and sdl-config.
aptitude search pkg-config and aptitude search sdl will reveal all.
I dont know which sdl prog contains sdl-configon ubuntu/debain so safe bet is to install all the sdl- including the -dev ones.

If you have more questions or experience further install problems, either use the AmiKit Support Forum or install the package manually following the instructions here.
