AmiKit tutorial videos!
« on: April 30, 2006, 04:29:42 PM »
I've just created some instructing videos demonstarting how easy is the archive handling in AmiKit environment. In case you're interested you can find them here.
If you want more videos just let me know what AmiKit area it should cover

EDIT: I've just created a single thread containing all the video tutorials, you can find it here. :-D

or I might include some banner asking "did you say hello to your girlfriend today?". It will pop up in AmiKit from time to time :-) or "Feed your cat! Yes, again..." :-)

Ok, let me know if you get an idea what to show in next videos. Cause I do not have insight what's difficult in AmiKit for newbies, you know.

As the emulation is using bsdsocket, I don't have Genesis (or Amitcp) installed. Can installing Amitcp or Genesis resolve this?

I do not understand, is it your real miggy having this "insert inet:" problem or AmiKit? AmiKit doesn't need amitcp nor genesi installed, like you said, the emulation uses the connectivity of PC.

Altrough installation of AmiKit is fairly simple, maybe a video demonstrating it step by step would be nice?

winuae use the DEFAULT.UAE or the AmiKit_v1.UAE at boot time?

It depends. If you start AmiKit or WinUAE GUI using the AmiKit.exe then AmiKit_v1.UAE config is loaded.
If you start plain WinUAE.exe, it should load DEFAULT.UAE config.
Anyway, both configurations are the same.

To modify the AmiKit config, mark the AmiKit_v1.UAE entry and hit LOAD. Then do the modifications and mark the entry again and press SAVE. Next time you start AmiKit (using AmiKit.exe) this config will be used automatically.
