yes, that's true, Directory Opus Magellan II does not support PNG icons, not even with PowerIcons patch. Guru Meditation, the current holder of the license, is busy with OS4 version of Opus, therefore I doubt they release some patch for old 68k proggie.
However, there's a
possibility of viewing PNG icons under Magellan, but forget about PNG desktop usage definitely... :-(
