A probable cause could be the default device. The A3000 has a scsi port built onto the motherboard therefore initializing the scsi.device before the Buddha in the zorro slot

The buddha can use either scsi.device as standard in AmigaOS or the Atapi.device

You should change the device setting within HDtoolBox to atapi and see if the buddha then is recognised and able to see any attached drives
