It's for the IBM clones Commodore used to make.  I'm not sure why everyone is so scandalised.  Commodore always had more than one hardware architecture going at any given time and they used Microsoft software right from the start.

What C= tried to do was tap the business market with IBM clones, since no one ever took Amigas seriously in that area.  Sadly for them, they couldn't compete with the established brands, so they failed to generate any revenue.  Would it have been a different story if C= had backed the Amiga as a business machine?  Hard to say, as the main business software developers never took Commodore seriously anyway.

Commodore's real mistake was making a complete balls-up when it came to move things on from the A500 era.  Pretty much every single decision they made after that was dumb.
