You know, at first glance I was like "okay, here's another scheme to push people into thinking the latest offerings of Amiga are useless."  But the further I look at this, the more I see it as marketable.

First off, let's change the html around to appropriately match W3Cs information.  The needs to be changed over to , as of html4.x the designation was officially depricated.  The tag will handle the same attributes but extends on the attributes further by allowing detection of plugin, redirection if not found, and information on what the plugin is.  It's not just an IE thing.

My least favorite thing about Java is "applets".  Applets are what coined the phrase "Write once, debug everywhere!", and have been a sore spot in quite a few Java Developers.

What I could see, 1.3 games released to the public from a server system.  You could hard code a specially coded rom which would require playing the game across a specific domain.

Oh yeah, Java's GUI can look just like Windows/Mac/GTK/ or whatever you want.  You just need to use the correct toolkit to build it.  Using a paintable layer and a borderless window, you can build your own user interface.

Now then, there are major problems to this idea.  First, what kind of overhead/system load are you talking about?  UAE already soaks up 99% of my processor time and I still find glitches here and there with it.  Second, harvesting intellectual property... how are you going to avoid this?  Third, many developers interested in building "applets" would either use UAE or their existing systems.  The problem with using UAE is the lack of a propper MMU to handle debugging.  To get around this, there would need to be MUCH better tools developed for building applications/games in UAE.  At this time, I can't see that happening.

I can think of quite a few arguments against the idea, but it's more arguing semantics than anything else.  Anyway, back to my research paper.

:pint:
I love the modern age world of this middle age crises America... all these SUVs driving around like there\\\'s gas to spare and then some.
