One of the nice things about developing software, I have yet to pay money to MS (aside from their lovely ergo keyboards with the correct chicklet six format and inverted T arrow keys).  Of all the software MS has to offer the only one really tollerable in my book is 2000Pro.  Kind of funny when I came to find out 2000Pro was written by Dec (aka DecAlpha) rather than MS.  XP is nothing more than a rehashed shell of 2KPro with an onslaught of useless features for both home and "pro" editions.  I get my beta of Longhorn here pretty soon though, and I'm wondering how much tripe they want people to swallow this time (looking back on the jump from 2KPro to XPPro).

The best 2KPro is the pre 128bit release or the final beta.  There is nothing useless on the disc and everything is easy to find.  They still have problems with the mouse wheel functionality (realtime scrolling in many programs) and windowToFront on every mouse click, but those are supposed to be "features", right?

MS will never receive a dime of my money, even if I have to build my own computer.

I love the modern age world of this middle age crises America... all these SUVs driving around like there\\\'s gas to spare and then some.
