As a Java advocate and certified Java programmer, I don't think it would be right to force MS to install the latest Java with thier "OS".  I do however believe they should be forced to either exclude Java entirely (which includes the MS version of Java) or include the latest SUN version of Java.  There are already several programs out there that require Java to be installed.  Java is not going to die off any time soon with the amount of market share that it has for such a unique product.
