Gavilan griped:
...Every single time i try to open a anything, my machine hangs up. I mean, the screen freezes, the mouse pointer doesnt respond, and then the screen goes black and i have to reset. I have a warp engine 040 accelerator and 96 megas ram on this machine. Nothing else.
:-( I experienced similar troubles with an older Mac Powerbook. Any attempt to open a window hung up the machine. The trouble had been that I had added more memory than the processor had been able to use.
;-) When opening a window, the first thing the operating system does is to look at the area where the window is going to be drawn, and copy the existing image data to RAM, so that it will be ready to copy back when the window is closed. Mac OS seems to prefer to use the highest part of RAM, and in my case, the top of RAM had been beyond the reach of the processor.
In your case, I would try checking the RAM, or jumper settings on the CyberVision card relating to memory.
