I want to convert JPG to 256 color IFF. What do I use?

Hi everybody,

I would like to convert jpg pictures to 256 color IFF, what program do I use on a real Amiga computer (not emulated on a PC)?  Is there anything I could use on Aminet?  My Amiga 2500 is set up in 640 X 480 resolution and 256 colors for Workbench (24-bit, True Color for everything else).  My video card is a GVP EGS 28/24 Spectrum and I am using the Picasso II drivers (both boards use the same video chip).

At the moment I am using WB 3.1.  What do I have to do to install a "jpeg datatype"?  I am not yet use to using WB 3.1.

If you really dont want 3.x, then you wil l have to make do with older, inferior programs, such as Deluxe Paint.

I am using Workbench 3.1.  Careful now, Deluxe Paint is my favorite paint program.  I have all 5 versions of the program and know how to use it really well.

Why do you want to convert them to 256 color IFF?

I have some really nice Amiga Workbench backgrounds that I want to convert to 16, 32, and 256 color IFF, so folks with classic Amigas with no video card can have nice backgrounds too.   :-D
