Ebay Mayhem

I love this guy. He's been trying to sell these cards for the last couple of months.

CF CARDs

I built up the same set up as this for $8AU. 5 bucks for the card and 3 bucks for the adaptor. I mean, there's price inflation...and then there's price inflation. This guy gets my vote for the Ebay Tool of the Month Award®.

The adapter, not the soon to be moderated "award" picture.

Oh come on. That little inoffensive thing? We're all grown ups here right?  :-?

I was actually disappointed when his first listing didn't attract any buyers (A$200 I think)

I was ready to quit my job, undercut him by $50 and make a killing!

Alas , the average Amigan is no fool  ;-)

Believe it or not, the first price he had on his original auction was a Buy It Now price of $295. That auction was for 1 double sided adaptor, 2 CF Cards - 1GB + 2GB and a 44-pin ribbon cable. I priced all the parts and it came to around $50. Probably less if you shopped around for the CF Cards. I emailed him telling that his price was way too high. I figured he just didn't realise. His rude and hostile response pretty much told me that he knew. Though he did try to convince me that the adaptors were 'special' Amiga only adaptors.

Holy friggin' crap!  :-o
Now that's an outrageous price. I keep looking at the auction expecting to see a Blizzard PPC accelerator and Scandoubler/Flicker fixer included.

I started my Amiga 1200 eBay sale at $100 (£48). It sold for $455 (£216). I saw one sell for over $700 (£322) the day before mine sold. And neither mine nor the one from the day before had any extras worth that price. Just weird. I absolutely love Amiga, but there's no way in hell I'd pay what my Amiga 1200 sold for.

I once got a 1200 for £1, and one for free! Both with masses of stuff. Why the high price??? They arnt even that rare. Most accelerators arn't even that rare.

I couldn't tell you why that guy has 320 pounds on it, but here in Australia Amiga 1200s are quite rare. Not exceedingly so, but rare enough to inflate the prices somewhat. I paid $180AU for my last Amiga 1200, and that was considered cheap. One can always ship one over from the UK or Europe, but the shipping costs eat into any savings made by doing that.
