From your post, it sounds like you are under the impression that we are making a large margin on these machines and generating substantial profits. The situation is the reverse: margins on bespoke hardware such as this are very small. In fact, if we have a warranty case with them, we make a loss. This is one reason we soak test every machine comprehensively before dispatching to customer.
I would pay up to $250 for this sam440e computer
To manufacture custom hardware for this price, the market would have to be 100 fold bigger than it currently is: economies of scale.
