Deneb, Poseidon, USB<->SATA and a DVD drive
« on: April 17, 2012, 04:17:22 PM »
Hey guys,

I have an A4000 and thought I would use a SATA DVD drive connected to the Deneb via an adapter. The adapter itself is recognized fine, but I'm unsure as to how I need to configure Poseidon to mount the actual drive. Do I need to make a mountlist and stick it to DosDrivers/, or should the drive be mounted automatically? At the moment when I put a disc in, the drive does spin up and appear to do something, and there is clearly some CPU load apparent in Workbench, but I never get a volume icon.

Thanks!

Hey,

and thanks for the quick replies. But now I'm a bit confused, do I or do I not need a CD0 in DosDrivers? :)

Here is what happens without it (excuse the moiré), the disc seems to be recognized but the drive just stays active, no icon ever appears on workbench, and I can't cd to or list contents of the volume.

All Poseidon settings should pretty much be default still, haven't tried tinkering with stuff yet. Any ideas what is going wrong here? I can try a different drive or more discs but they should all be in order. IDE DVD drive works fine (with the appropriate CD0 in devs).
