Just for future reference and for other Squirrel users.

The Squirrel was made by HiSOFT and is a PCMCIA slot SCSI interface.
This means Small Computer Systems Interface and is a super fast
connection method for multimedia use.

Here are the brethren:
----------------------
Squirrel (Classic Squirrel) - the one you have
A SCSI-1 device, non-DMA PCMCIA fitting - approximately 300k/s max
speed. Had a white case.

The Whippet - A PCMCIA high-speed serial interface for internet
surfing that had a 230kbps maximum speed (4x a 56k modem). Black case.

Surf Squirrel - Combining the Classic Squirrel with The Whippet this
PCMCIA fitting multimedia expansion card had Fast SCSI-2 (non-DMA)
*and* a 230kbps serial port (9-pin).

As far as I can remember the Squirrels didn't get along with the
Blizzard 1260 and so needed a driver update. They require a terminator
at the end of the chain (a little terminator block on the back of your
CD-ROM or the terminator switch enabled).

:-)

Hope this is interesting to someone.
