For those who don't know, Jungle Strike is a game about black underground musicians protesting about pay and working conditions.

The sequel, Urban Strike, features Roni Size battling the evil forces of pop/rock.

They were not, as some people think, games featuring nasty men and helicopters.

Did the CD32 version have extra anims?

The controls were great in these games and I loved the little boxes you could winch up with ammo!

:-D

I still prefer Desert/Jungle Strike to the Zeewolf games but alas, I am CD32-less!

There was a TV documentary on about the influence of black artists on the UK music scene, it suggested that if it wasn't for the carribeans moving to the UK after the war we'd all be listening to Cliff Richard... and maybe The Prodigy would have been a group of Morris Dancers.

:-D

No offence meant, just that Jungle is MOBO (music of black origin) mainly and might not be so prevelant in the US where breakbeat and hip-hop are more widespread.

A classic tune is Goldie - "Terminator".

One of the missions appears to involve blowing up hippies. Worth the postage alone.

Wasn't it Desert, Jungle & Urban on the 16-Bits then Nuclear Strike on the Saturn/Playstation? Nuclear was a bit jittery with the texture mapping if I remember correct. You can't beat the classics!

Didn't the little men make funny grunting/whining noises when you shot them off watch towers?

:-D

Interestingly Desert Strike featured an Apache, Jungle Strike featured (the now canned) Commanche, Urban Strike featured a fictional stealth fighter shaped helicopter and Nuclear Strike went back to Apache.

If only they had made an Airwolf game...  R.I.P Mister Santini!

:-D
