You should see the top of my DCE SCSI-IV kit!
They thought it was a good idea to glue some cardboard to it with some
sort of fish paste and it's melted everywhere.
The thing gives a dodgy connection due to seriously tarnished contacts
and has capacitors in the wrong places (like right in the place a SIMM
would go).
Some alledgedly pure alcohol from cheap computer cleaning kits leaves
a nasty smear on some surfaces so it might be worth trying a Q-tip
moistened with warm water.
I've also been told by other members that fibreglass pencils are
available to rub up contacts to gleam!
Your problem could be exaggerated if the card doesn't get enough
ventilation as extreme heat I've noticed can make impurities frost up.
