Does the SCSI-IV need drivers? I thought the 1230scsi.device was in
the board's own ROM?

Let me know if you need the SCSIconfid/UnitControl tools and I'll pack
them up.

As for your IDE drive problem, the same thing happened to me with a
540mb IBM drive. I gave it a few days and it came back to life... no
idea what this was all about.

I think I may have inserted the ribbon the wrong way around the first
time so some sort of protection might have kicked in on the
motherboard or drive.

Another possibility is slight oxidisation on the pins. Try put the
cable on and pulling it off a few times (gently) and giving the drive
a rest inbetween.

Don't consign it to the bin just yet!
