Amiga Memory
« on: July 23, 2005, 07:12:18 PM »
Hi all Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but I wasn't sure where to post it

I have recently got back in to Amigas (from a 13 year break)and I am a total n00b once again.

I was given an A1200 from a friend of mine at work and then I bought a Hard Drive from Ebay for it. The Hard Drive cam loaded with WorkBench 3.1 and also came with the WB 3.1 disks. Also on the Hard Drive were some games and a Custom menu on the Menu Bar in workbench to launch the games from.

Now my question is as I load Workbench and look at the top bar to see how much meory is there it shows up as 1,476,427 I though the A1200 should have 2 meg. When I try to run 1 of the games that is an AGA game it gives me the mesage that there is not enough memory (The games are installed with WHDLoad)

Has anyone got any ideas why the memory is low on the amiga? and is there a way I can increase the ammount of memory?

Sorry for this being a bit long winded

I was looking at the memory upgrade as I am one of those people who likes Workbench to look pretty (pics n stuff) Is it possible to get just a memory upgrade. I have looked on ebay and all I seem to see are the Accelerator cards that come normally with a 16Mb simm installed.

Thanks for the help
