I'll post this here as well, even though it's a follow-up and not a solution, sorry.

I just got another A4000d in a trade, and it has a peculiar problem. It will not write on any floppy disks. The funny thing is, it has a CatWeasel installed, and it still will not write, even using a PC drive. The hard drive works. Which is the chip that kills this functionality?

A1000/A500/B2000(030)/A3000(040)/A500+/CDTV/A1200(060)/A4000(060)/CD32

Can the CIA be replaced by "normal" means, as in no super-human soldering? I can do the usual.
