Check the documentation for your SCSI controller. Many (most) A1000 SCSI controllers aren't going to support 4GB disks. You'd probably be fine to save yourself the $20 bucks and get the 256MB model, which is still going to be a big jump up from 20MB; unless you have one of the rare A1000 SCSI controllers that can support such large disks. 
Looks like this will work just fine on my A2000 w/GVP '030/SCSI card though. I guess it's finally time to upgrade.......
