Yup - plastic can be harder to cover with paint than most people think. The least this guy could have done was paint the entire case, not just the top. Man, what a ghetto job....

Bonds really well too :-)

That IS the way to go these days. A good job can be done with lacquer, if you know what you're doing. It also bonds quite well. The vinyl dye is much easier to use however.
