Dreamcast
« on: May 12, 2012, 07:21:51 PM »
I just landed another Sega Dreamcast, in like new shape. It came with an SD card reader and software to load prgs from the SD card.
I don't seem to able to access the device though. Anyone here used one of these?

I have the CD that has Dreamshell on it. Apparently it is just real picky about the SD card used. Several refused to work, but a Sandisk SD card works fine.
Thanks for the suggestions, one and all.

I run Quake 3 off SD. It's the only commercial game that gives me better load times from SD as opposed to CD.

Do you use a controller or keyboard/mouse for DOOM?
I just found several games I bought online, including DOOM and Unreal Tournament (one of my all time favorites).
This Dreamcast was a good find - I love flea markets!

The best 2 Doom ports for the DC were nxDoom and later a port of ADoom. I used a controller with both.

Upgrading your CPU clock is a worth while venture too!

I have found several sites with loads of info for upgrading the DC. I am reading up on it all now. Just what I need - more projects!
