I am using a 1942 right now, with Super 72's 800/600 mode with no trouble at all. Flicker really isn't an issue. I did have to tweak the daylights out of the driver with moned however. Knock on wood, this setup has been working for over 9 years! (this is on a 1200 system too)
Don't let the speakers sway you! These tiny speakers must have all of .5 watt per side! Get better speakers!
