If the unit took a sharp hit, it could easily have knocked the floppy disk drive out of alignment. This can be had to fix, unless you have a 'scope or alignment disk (I believe Free Spirit Software used to make one. Be aware that you need an original - this type of disk can not be coppied, period).
Believe it or not, you are better off with the 1.3 ROMs using an A570. 2.x have issues with many CDTV games!)
