What they are trying to tell you is that you must set the tool type for the hdtoolbox icon as the device you actually have.
IOW - highlight the HDToolBox icon with one click, then go to the top menu and hit icons, then go down to Information - this will open the window for the HDToolBox icon. Once there, make sure you have the correct tool type, in the tool type window.
I realize this really gets down to basics, but I want to make sure you don't misunderstand.
I hope this helps, and cures your problem. (it should).
