Image processing
« on: February 15, 2003, 06:12:14 PM »
Hi there

I`ve got a small request. Does anybody know of any simple image processing software, which can do at least Scaling? Nice if it could do cropping and 90° rotating too.Something which uses datatypes as I`ve found that some of the simpl ones don`t like the jpgs I want to use. Something that will allow me to work on my DOpus screen, and will not rely on its own screen. This is something I could do with.

Thanks

PS I`ve been thinking of Photofolio 2.3. Has anybody got that here?

@JaXanim

DOH! I knew I should say Imagestudio doesn`t do it properly. I want it be on my desktop and to be able to load the jpgs from my camera. They won`t load in Imagestudio.

Just to clarify. When I say "On my desktop". I mean not on its own screen.

Thanks

Just had an idea.

Is there a way to make it so normally ImageFX loads on its own screen, but for these rare occasions when I do want to do stuff on my desktop, I could make it load onto my destop? If that makes any sense?

Thanks

PS I don`t mean loading it then changing the prefs. That defeats the whole idea.

Hmm ImageFX won`t listen. Nomatter what I do it crashes on startup. I mean if I do copy the ImageFX file and change the tooltype to use a different config file (one which is set to DOpus screen) it just crashes. What ever i do it crashes if its not on it own screen. Unless I go in as normal and then change the prefs.

I may get Photofolio 2.3. Its looking good anyway.

Thanks people. You`ve been very helpful.

PS This isn`t the end if you have other ideas. :-)

@Targhan

I`ve tried that already. It won`t load the jpegs either. They have some exif thing in them. Some of the older/freeer programs don`t like them.

Does anybody know of a program which could get rid of this exif rubbish?

HUH!? Wheres my reply to Cecilia? I put a reply just after her post. Oh well.

@Cecilia

When I said "simple" I meant a small and simple program. I know imageFX is easy to use. Though I only have version 4. I think I`ll have to get 4.5 soon.

I have tried duplicating the main ImageFX file, then changing the tootype which tell it which config file to use. I have created a config file which is setup conrrectly for puttin it on my desktop, by going in in the usual way and changing the prefs, then saving as another file. This cause it to crash and so doe loading the normal ImageFX with the normal config file except for the screenmode settings.

Does that make any sense?

Does anybody elses ImageFX become unstable when you start it up?

When I say unstable on startup I mean normally not when trying to do what i`m trying to do. It has always had a big chance of crashing on my computer. Rarely after its got going.

@BouncingAyatollah

Hehe I`ve tried that too. It can`t find the exif thing. Unless I did it wrong, but it said something like "No propriatry header found" or something.

Thanks

@jd997uk

I`ve just done what you said. It works, but I don`t want it on my Workbench screen. I want it on my DOpus screen. I changed Workbench to DOpus.1, but it still appears on my WOrkbench screen. Is that a tooltype which can be changed or is a fixed thing?

Thanks
