can`t see files ?

hello. I am trying to transfer files to my amiga 500 by copying files to cd on pc ,putting them on disks on my a2000.When I put the disks into df0: on a500  the files are not visible and I dont know how to make them visible.Can anyone tell me how? using wb1.3 on a500 and wb3.1 on a2000.

I tried that and when i copied to hard drive still cannot see them in window.How can you put an icon to a program file you cannot see?

SORRY only new to amigas was given these machines havent worked out how to use the workbench properley can`t work out how to get to disk in icon edit.

i did format disk in a500 dont know if it is in custom format because if I type the name of the file in shell it does load then software failure happens.

Yes thanks for the reply,he a500 has a hardrive and has opus installed can read the disks through their.But I was wondering why the files arent visible naturally once transferred to hardrive.Anyway am trying to link up the a500 to pc with null modem cable,had to make one, so far no good getting a connection with twinexpress.Probably due to my terrible soldering.I will buy some more connectors and try again unless their is a way without soldering??.once sorted will put 2000 on network a500 is easier to cart around at the moment.
