I don't think it really matters what revision motherboard you have. I have had no problems with rev 2,1d4 or 1d1 motherboards.

Is the scandoubler pressed firmly over the chip it sits on?
Loose contacts are the most likely candidate.

Extra resistor? I don't know. What I do know is that commodore released boards that had patches applied to them. Commodore is not known for good quality control so slightly flawed designes made it into production and where pathched. My Rev 1D1 even has wires running over the PCB.

Anyway; timing fixes are not scandoubler related but apply to bus timing faults that occur when using 68040 or faster processors. Others seem not affected. Search te forum about these timing fixes/patches.
