The one bugbear I really have is when people say "should/could/would of" instead of "should/could/would HAVE"

I don't mind the kids doing it so much, but to see grown adults write this makes me kinda sad.

Correct them everytime they say it, and they won't disapoint you with their grammar when they are adults. :-)

Lol!  I don't have kids!  What I meant was (excuse my previously lazy English) I don't mind the kids doing it as (hopefully) they are still in education and may yet drop the habit.

Very enlightening on the apostrophes.  I guess I was getting it right but not really knowing why.  I mean in the  "doesn't" example I fully understand the omission, but the "Fluffy's hat" example was new to me I guess.  It makes perfect sense and I will use this example to educate my peers.   :-)
