Blizzard Memory Problems
« on: September 11, 2004, 11:15:54 AM »
Hi all just got a 64mb single sided simm for my Blizzard from amigakit... the problem is you have to set the jumper to 60ns access otherwise you get a black screen on startup, even with no startup-sequence, but when you put the 60ns jumper on, it boots but only works for a couple of minutes, then crashes.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I have a Blizzard 1230IV without scsi kit, I think maybe it's a hard drive problem, if you leave it sitting there doing nothing it won't crash, but when you access a drive, it brings up half the icons then you get the busy clock icon and that's it. I'm thinking maybe a clean install of workbench? Version 3.0 by the way.

I have an internal 2.5 laptop hdd, I'm using a 135w AT psu.

My 1200 is kinda quirky though, usually a format solves any problems, a while back I couldn't get any floppies to format on any drive (1 internal and 2 external) Done a clean install and it all worked  :-?

Okay well my old Memory works the same as it used to... 8mb 70ns.... the new 64mb simm boots to black screen at 70ns and runs unstable at 60ns... I get softare errors mostly, also had a yellow recoverable error before.

edit: Do I need a patch to get OS3.0 to take this much ram?
