Wings. Hard drive install?
« on: April 29, 2004, 11:00:58 AM »
I used to have "Wings" by Cinemaware installed on the hard drive of my CD32+SX1. I originally did this by editing the start-up sequence after using the game's built-in install facility. Now after 10 years, I find that I cannot remember how to do this again.  Any suggestions?

Thanks JJ, I have finally managed to install Wings successfully although i am not quite sure just how I did it. I don't seem to have a user start-up and as (I think) this is a subdirectory of "S" and don't know how to create one, I used the assign command in a cli. But I don't know if this is why it worked. My copy of Wings has been "Lockpicked" to remove copy protection (which means I do not have to search the manual to enter various words to load the game), however, I discovered a virus on Lockpick (IRQ virus in a large file named "Eurosoft") which I have deleted. Then I used the Wings install facility and lo and behold, it worked.  I think my cereberal cortex has a read error on quite a few sectors after all these years, perhaps I should see my (disk)doctor :)   Many thanks,  Mark
