Yes, really. After all these years of waiting after buying the Amiga Club voucher,

Hummm - you bought an "Amiga Club voucher"?

What I bought for 50 Euros was:
- a coupon for a 50 Euro rebate when I eigther buy OS4, an A1 or both,
- a lifelong "I am club Amiga" membership,
- and last but not least an "I am club Amiga"-t-shirt.

And as of today (18th of January 2005, 9.30 a.m.) I havn't got any of them.

today a strange white envelope from the USA came through my door and inside was a grey T-shirt with the Amiga.com logo.

Was there an sender-address as well, in case I have to use the warranty and send it back?

No voucher, no leaflets: just the T-shirt.

That's exactly what I was afraid of:
They forgot the most important thing - the coupon!

I put my money where my mouth was - to get it back in form of a rebate when I buy one of the products, once they are availabe.

*THAT* was the reason for me to buy the coupon - and nothing else.

I always saw the T-Shirt and the club membership as nice add-ons - as a kind of "Thank you for being interested"!

Now its getting obvious that I'm finally - after several years of waiting - going to be fobbed off with a f****n' shirt for 50 Euro!

That's what's called *FRAUD* here in Germany by law - no matter if the owners changed or not!

And I will certainly *NOT* deal ever again with someone who once frauded me.

According to German law you have to pay the debts, if you buy a company that owes the money to it's customers.
If you buy such a company, you buy the debts as well.

If you do not want to pay the debts of a bankrupt company, then just don't buy that company.

Buy their patents/rights instead...

(I guess, I can only speak for myself)..

That's exactly why I always used the "I" form and not the "we" form...

But my suggestion is to keep cool and wait until OS4 is released (or a month longer)..

Hehe - reminds me of an old German saying:
"Having sexual intercourse and drinking sparkling wine is much better than waiting and drinking tea..."

... but constantly {bleep}ing in forums doesn't help anyone..

There are two simple reasons for my constant {bleep}ing:
1) One of the responsibles somehow notices my constant bleeping, understands my point and that there are others as well with this valid point of view and then accepts the need of a change for the better.

2)Not to let newcomers to the Amiga scene get an wrong impression of the current situation (-> fair play: no lies).

IMO this is the *ONLY* chance to get things better.
I'm afraid the responsible persons will only move to change things for the better if they really are afraid that no one will buy from them...

Why is it getting obvious? They just fullfiled one part of their promises, ...

Emphasis is on "one part".
I see it that way, that there originally were 3 parts.
And them taking three and a half(!) years just to fulfill the most needless one of the three promises clearly shows - from my point of view - that they do not take their customers serious at all.

And I really can't see any chances for an successfull future for a company that constantly refuses to take its customers needs serious or even to talks to them.

If you read my posting more carefully, you would possibly have noticed that I used the term "It's getting obvious" and not "This is the proof".

"Is getting" describes an ongoing process.
I was more looking at a single snapshot of the current state of this process.
And from this snapshot it looks like the train is running in that direction.
But it can as well be that the direction will change again (perhaps even for the better, this time) on behalf an unexpected curve ahead - who knows.
At this point I just don't think it's very likely...

I'm not saying they will fullfill all their promises (after all, Hare did not address this issue at all yet) and it's probably a good idea to remain sceptical - but your outburst ("obvious", "f****n'") just irritates me.

While I really cannot understand what you think is wrong with "obvious" ("offensichtlich" in German), I at least masked the displeasing word to avoid irritations.

Besides that I'm just a human - and sometimes just fail to hide my motions, which is quite common for human beings.

It should not happen, but it happens to each of us from time to time.

After waitng three and a half years(!) for the promises to be fulfilled (and then finally realizing that just the most needless one is obviously going to be fulfilled), after having heard all these boastfull annoucements that were never realized up to now, it's even somehow understandable for the most people, that one might loose his temper.
