Hi Paul,

I'm awfully sorry that I can't help you at the moment.

I just received my second-hand bought Linux APUS CDs; but before I can start to mess around with Linux I'm afraid I have to buy and install a bigger HD for my towered A4k PPC (4 of 4.3gB is definitely not enough).

As I also have the Cybervision (8mB), I think I will run into the same or similar Problems as you.

But then it will be good to know that there's someone around who possibly already solved those issues I'm just in!

BTW:
Does your installation work with the UW-SCSI on the CyberstormPPC?
All the best,

Yup, my installation works perfectly with the CS-PPC UW-SCSI. All kernels since 2.4.17 do, IIRC. Anyways, the latest on apus-linux.sourceforge.net is 2.4.20-1, that's the one I use. I also found 2.4.21 and 2.4.25 somewhere, but I couldn't get them working.

Thanks for the hints on where to start downloading, Paul!
I'm sure I'll come back to you with loads of questions once I have my new HD and start trying out LinuxPPC...
