For sure the owner has the right to do whatever he wishes but hiding in the closet is weird and doesn't do much to instill trust with the forum users.

Personally I don't care, but I can understand why such behavior would irritate some people.

Personally I find the whole "your opinion is meaningless because " lame. Strange behavior causes people to comment about it, nothing more, nothing less.
