Hum,
It's still hard to understand A. Redhouse position but there will be a new big problem for the bus, especially in Europe and in 2 or 4 years in the US (harder than the digital millenium copy act):
Soon, all materials that doesn"t include a DRM system, and that allow to copy "protected" disc or to read it with a non-licensed software we'll be illegal.
All the Amiga, all AmigaOne, all Pegasos and their software would be in this category...  :rtfm:

Groan... Rememds when i went to watch fantastic 4 on deve latnight. There was a 30 second clip education users how criminal it is to copy the dvd. Couldnt fast forward it ( not allowed ). Then the fbi warning.

Now they are saying that with new formats, you will need an approved monitor to get quality playback. The software will actually play a crappy signal if it doesnt like your monitor. Its going back in time, here we are with all the fancy powerful hardware, and programmers are writing code to intentionally not make use of it.

Doesnt matter anyway, people will hack it. Os4 will come out on standard hardware with a littl pripriety wedge that will get dealt with. AOS4 will probably eventually be hacked to run on a mac.
